Pricing and Contracts

PRICING:
Rates for Barling Photography for Real Estate begin at $125 for 10 or fewer images of a smaller home and $150 for 15 images of a medium-size property. Larger properties or homes requiring 20 or more photos will start at $200, though special situations may call for negotiable pricing. These rates include 1-1.5 hours shooting time and 2-6 hours processing time.

Distances farther than twenty miles from Charlottesville may be charged a negotiable mileage fee.

CONTRACTS and LICENSING:
All photographs are the property of Barling Photography and are licensed to the agent and seller for the duration of the listing. The agent (or seller) will receive two copies of each photo, one minimized for MLS listings on the web, and one larger for print usage. Photos are delivered via an easily downloaded online zip archive.

Architects, builders and designers have different license requirements and should expect to pay a larger fee for these extended rights. Rates will be negotiated before shooting begins.

Turnaround time for a normal size project is generally 24-48 hours.

Should the seller or agent wish to purchase rights to the photos for other uses, a distinct contract will be negotiated.

RECOMMENDED:
The listing agent or seller should be present when the photographs are taken. The house should be clean and uncluttered. Barling Photography cannot be responsible for de-cluttering a home during the shoot, although, with permission, a piece of furniture may be temporarily moved to create a better image. All lights should be turned on in the home. All cars should be moved from the driveway, and any trash cans, recycle bins, hoses, etc. should be put away somewhere out of sight.

Agents are always invited to bring along their own camera to collect alternative shots of the home. Many are quite good photographers themselves, and their input is always welcome.
